Private Pilot Ground School

This comprehensive 30-hour course will thoroughly prepare students to satisfy the mandatory requirement of passing the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) written examination.  This course is particularly targeted for students seeking to obtain a private pilot license or career in airport management.

FAA Regulations

Students will learn about how FAA regulations are designed to protect both aviation employees and the public from unsafe aviation procedures and programs. They also protect the United States’ national security.

Principles Of Flight

In this section, air pressure, density, and weight will be taught in relation to aerodynamic principles. Students will learn about lift, drag, thrust, control surfaces and how they control direction, speed, and altitude. Students will learn about how wings create a forward thrust and how lift determines the speed at which an object moves.

Airplane Instruments

Students will learn about the various navigation instruments which include GPS, very high frequency (VHF) omni-directional radio range (VOR), nondirectional beacon (NDB), and instrument landing system (ILS) information.

Airport Operations (AIM)

Students will learn about all of the processes involved in an airport to ensure that the traveler’s experience runs smoothly, including customer service, TSA, gateway operators, and more.
